Week 1- my expectations

My expectations for this class are to help put myself in a position to launch my carreer after I graduate with my Bachelors. I know that if I want to stand out, that I will want to have some certifications to back up my degree. I already have my security plus, so I will need to aim higher. I see the SSCP as a step in that direction and will be seeking to obtain it. It is a little intimidating financial as the cost of the test is currently beyond my budget. But I hope to alleviate that during the quarter by finding a workstudy position at the school. I hope to find a position that is related to my field so that I can gain experience that would help back up my resume after the end of the quarter. I think that would be the best way to turn the means of affording the certificate into another opportunity to have a better career. In order to pass the SSCP I am going to have to take a practice test and identify my weaknesses. That way I can focus on those areas and not only pass the test, but improve my overall competence in the technical aspects of the information security field.
